Description

Warm and rustic, the Big Sky Bachelor’s Chest has a vintage design pairing a case crafted of rustic Pecky Hickory Veneers in the dark Charred Timber finish with turned metal legs and stretchers. Featuring two drawers, the top drawer has a removable felt liner and the bottom drawer is cedar-lined. There’s an FC707 power bar with 3 electrical outlets and one live USB port and a cord clip on the back. The natural beauty and near mystical experience of the American wilderness inspires a spirited collection from Hooker Furniture, a celebration of dramatic vistas and the freedom to roam, a land of rough-hewn timber and towering snow-capped peaks, boundless plains, and cool, clear mountain lakes. Hooker brings home a dream of wide-open spaces and a life lived in tandem with iconic landscapes with furnishings that evoke the weight, heft and heritage of post and beam construction, the mark and artistry of true craftspeople, and substantive, thoughtful designs right for today. Watch for warm, rustic, hickory veneer, and rich finishes like charred timber, dusk, and avalanche, organic textures like burlap and top grain leather, forged hardware, and classic moldings for the traditionalist. Those with a more modern bent will gravitate toward the clean lines of waterfall edges, crosshatch surfaces and planking details that speak to authenticity and the hand of the maker. Welcome to the peaceful, easy feeling of Big Sky. It’s time to simply breathe.

    OTHER DETAILS

Finish Construction: Hooker Furniture utilizes a multiple-step finish process of up to 16 finish steps. This results in an unsurpassed clarity, depth and color richness and durability to our finishes. Through hand-craftsmanship such as rubbing and padding, our finishes feel as good as they look, with a smoothness that is delightful to the touch.

Frame Construction: Hooker Furniture uses carefully chosen solid wood and select wood veneers over durable wood products in our furniture construction. Use of veneers enables more decorative looks unattainable with solid wood. Veneers are used over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board, made of renewable resources. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longer-lasting furniture.

Drawer Construction: Hooker Furniture offers full height, full depth and full width drawers for maximum storage capacity. All drawers have strong, time-tested English or French dovetail construction, for years of problem-free use. Plywood drawer bottoms are attached to plywood drawer sides for strength and durability. Metal side guides or wood on wood guide systems operate smoothly.

    COMPANY HISTORY

In 1925, four-year-old Clyde Hooker Jr. pulled the cord on the steam whistle that signaled the first work day at Hooker Furniture. In his 40 years leading the company, Clyde's dedication to the pursuit of making stylish, beautiful, well-made furniture propelled the company to become one of the nation's premier importers and manufacturers of furniture. In 2000, Clyde passed the torch of leadership to Paul B. Toms Jr, grandson of the company's founder, making Hooker a third-generation company and one of the few furniture firms still led by a member of the founding family.
